Training and Rehabilitation

Comprehensive Training for Horses: Building Strong Foundations and Lasting Partnerships

At North Gait, our training program focuses on a wide variety of areas to ensure your horse’s development is well-rounded and tailored to its unique needs. Whether it's starting young horses, improving gait, conditioning, enhancing overall handling, or providing recovery and rehabilitation, we’re dedicated to helping each horse reach its full potential.

Key Areas of Focus:

Foundation: We believe that a strong foundation on the ground is essential for success under saddle. Groundwork is a core component of our training, setting the stage for a respectful and trusting relationship between horse and handler.

Gait Work & Conditioning: Proper gait development and physical conditioning are integral to a horse’s long-term health and performance.

Rehabilitation: For horses coming back from injuries or setbacks, our approach emphasizes gentle, gradual rehabilitation to help them regain confidence and strength.

To keep the training experience enjoyable and engaging for both the horses and myself, we incorporate a variety of activities, including trail training, arena work, obstacles, and even trick training when possible. Obstacle training is one of my personal favorites, and I’m always seeking new, creative challenges in the arena and out on the trail to help build confidence, versatility, and problem-solving skills.

Limited Training Slots for Personalized Attention

To provide each horse with the individualized attention it deserves, I only accept a limited number of training horses per year. We often book several months in advance, so I encourage you to plan ahead and secure a spot for your horse’s training journey.
